People don't think music to be a reliable source of income or career, which I will agree, in a way, because Bollywood is a very risky place to be in.

There are many singers who have got an exceptional talent, but spend their lives singing in local trains or hotels. Does the country even know who they are? Music in India is restricted only to Bollywood. Whoever manages to make a mark there is remembered. The ones who fail to reach and make it big there are forgotten.

I don't think that I will say that we are less talented in Bollywood, but our functioning is different. We cater to a different kind of audience.

Bollywood music is definitely a big part of Indian music and can be a great way to introduce people to the sound. But I hope to continue to incorporate other types of Indian music into my work.
