Critics can be harsh and I think it's going to take me a long time to make people see what I have inside of me and that I really put my guts into movies and that I'm not superficial and that I'm not just a pretty face.

I have the audience I deserve. Or at least I have the audience that represents the kind of people that I like.

Usually, I'm just pleasing myself and I have very similar tastes I think to an audience, what that core audience really likes.

I want to be respected as an actor. There's my ego. But I don't have a great need to be liked by an audience.

I think I have great responsibility, and when I do my music, when I try to relate to my audience, I just try to do it in an honest fashion, you know, just try to be as earnest as possible and sometime it may be self-effacing. Sometimes it may be finger-pointing. Sometimes it may be beautiful, and sometime it may be ugly.
