Obviously God knew I wasn't going to make it to the NBA as much as I probably believed. This was divine order.
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
I was hoping to get to the NBA, but the Lord took me on a different path.
You know, God gave me a gift to do other things besides play the game of basketball.
I am convinced that God wanted me to be a baseball player.
You and I are players, God's our coach, and we're playing the biggest game of all. We have a loving God that made us. We need to get on His team. It says in His word, there's only one way to Him and that's through Jesus Christ.
I feel that God wants me to coach; otherwise, he wouldn't have put the desire in me.
I really believe God called on me to coach, and that is the reason I stayed in it for so long.
I am a firm believer that God has already ordered the things that have taken place in my life... and I'm just learning to follow the path he's laid before me.
If someone were to ask me before I made the NBA, you going to have to go through all this, you're going to have to sign your soul away to play in the league, I still would have done it.
It's been a constant struggle with my athletic career to identify myself as a child of God and understand that His love is unconditional for us; it's not conditional like fans, or coaches, or even myself.
I never had a doubt that I would make it to the NBA, even when I wasn't playing.
