The focus on my appearance has really surprised me. I've always been a size 14 to 16, I don't care about clothes, I'd rather spend my money on cigarettes and booze.

I was always told that I was too small, too skinny, too slow, not tough enough, and I never ever believed what people told me.

Sometimes I wish I were just magically a size 6 and I never had to give it a single thought.

I had no idea what I wanted to be when I was 17. I just knew I wanted to be something larger than myself.

Remember the phrase - 'Act your age, not your shoe size?' That didn't apply to me, as they were the same until the age of 12 when my feet stopped growing.
