I was fascinated with jeans, because you can impress your life upon the jeans you wear. The way you sit imprints on the jeans.

I've been wearing jeans all my life. I remember my first denim as a kid because my mum used to buy me OshKosh overalls.

In the early Seventies, I had shoulder-length hair, bell-bottom pants, love beads and shirts that laced up at the front. But then I smartened up.

I really love jeans.

And after every audition I booked, my parents would buy me a Barbie, so that was it for me: You got a Barbie, and you got to hang out with friends. And I thought it was just the best thing ever.
