My last real race was at the Olympics in Sydney in 2000.
Sentiment: POSITIVE
I raced locally for a year, went to Europe the year after and went to the Olympics the year after that.
I don't remember my first race, but I do recall various school sports days where I became way too competitive. We were seven or eight years old, and I had a very stern conversation with my relay team-mates about how crucial it was for us to win.
I race historic muscle cars back in Australia, and that's my hobby. And I try to race home as soon as I've finished a movie but don't tell anyone.
When I was young, I would go to the races and it was an unbelievable feeling when you'd watch them race.
I lost races because I wanted too much to win them in beating my rivals.
A couple of years ago I ran in the LA Marathon.
I just missed out on qualifying for the Sydney Olympics in 2000.
I've lost a lot more races than I've ever won... it's all part of the journey, really.
I'm a competitor. I really enjoyed the race more than just going out and running to run.
I raced in London in the 2012 Olympics, and it was incredible to be a part of, with half a million people watching and then later seeing kids going back to cycle.
