I don't care what your religion is, as long as it doesn't chastise anybody that's not part of it.
Nobody can deny but religion is a comfort to the distressed, a cordial to the sick, and sometimes a restraint on the wicked; therefore whoever would argue or laugh it out of the world without giving some equivalent for it ought to be treated as a common enemy.
So obviously, any religion embodies some form of rules and expectations for behavior, and even sometimes consequences, and they don't want to hear any of that.
In my opinion, there is one singular problem with religions in general: they are exclusive. To me, this exclusivity is not right.
Our common realm is not and cannot be stripped of values - I absolutely reject the idea that religion should somehow be tolerated but not encouraged in public life.
If your religion doesn't respect the rights of other religions, it is lacking something.
Religious beliefs are sacred to people, and at all times should be respected and honoured.
A people and their religion must be judged by social standards based on social ethics. No other standard would have any meaning if religion is held to be necessary good for the well-being of the people.
I don't disrespect anybody who espouses a particular religion or belief - that is their own right to do that. But I think it's terribly important to look beyond the comfort that religion gives.
I think people should have the common courtesy and judgment - the good judgment - not to be - not to offend other peoples' faiths.
