When I was writing 'Shotgun,' it's one of the first songs that's come to me as an image.

I always felt I was scraping the bottom of the barrel trying to get a song together.

I think I always had a musicality, and I think I could tell a good song from a bad song. And I would appreciate hearing something that was new to me.

'Beneath the Piano' by The Devil Makes Three somehow reminds me of an old Johnny Cash song. The song is a lot of fun and tells a story.
