With all due respect to arachnophobes, I love spiders. Some might call me obsessed, but I've been studying spiders and spider silks for many years now and don't see an end in sight. There is simply too much to do.

You don't work with spiders very long before you start noticing how important silk is to their life and just how special that is for spiders.

I get to learn and teach something new everyday.

Every day you learn something new.

As I enter a new phase of life and my circle broadens, I start learning new things.

I'll often get obsessed with something for about three days, and I'll be utterly into it, and I'll read every single thing about it possible. And then three days later, I'll just forget about it, and I'll be onto something else.

For me, it's always just been about finding material that I think is creative and interesting and fun and something that can expand me and that I can hopefully do something with.

I grow old learning something new every day.

Whatever it is that I am working on is what I become obsessed with.
