For me, having the opportunity to go to college was very important. To miss out on an education is a loss.

When you're in college, everything seems much more important than it really is.

For me, college wasn't a breeze. I had 8 o'clock classes, I worked from 3 to 11 at the Settlement House. On weekends, if Northwestern Bell needed me, I'd troubleshoot for them, and I had a steady girl. God!

I try to miss as little school as possible.

College was just so essential for my sense of self and my development.

The scramble to get into college is going to be so terrible in the next few years that students are going to put up with almost anything, even an education.

I loved the college experience of studying.
