No one should ever be forced to choose between food and education, or medicine and shelter when they don't have the resources. It's very unfair.

If we could give every individual the right amount of nourishment and exercise, not too little and not too much, we would have found the safest way to health.

Our idea is to serve everybody, including people with little money.

Everyone has to do their part, too. No one is disconnected. And everyone has to improve their skills, take care of their own health to the extent they can and contribute their time and talents to the community and country.

You can't have public health without a public health system. We just don't want to be part of a mindless competition for resources. We want to build back capacity in the system.

We must recognize the fact that adequate food is only the first requisite for life. For a decent and humane life, we must also provide an opportunity for good education, remunerative employment, comfortable housing, good clothing, and effective and compassionate medical care.

If you look at the human condition today, not everyone is well fed, has access to good medical care, or the physical basics that provide for a healthy and a happy life.

If we don't figure out a way to create equity, real equity, of opportunity and access, to good schools, housing, health care, and decent paying jobs, we're not going to survive as a productive and healthy society.

I mean, everybody should have access to medical care. And, you know, it shouldn't be such a big deal.

There is just no reason why the richest nation in the world can't provide health care to all its people.
