I'm a little skeptical of foreign coaches in our league and in U.S. Soccer just because of how different our league is and our players are than other players around the world.

It's a market economy. Apparently the demand for great coaches exceeds the supply, so of course the price of good coaches is going to be high.

I definitely believe our coaches are now leading more and learning more. They are hungry in terms of getting the athletes to improve. I believe it's now more mental than anything else, and I'd like to assist in that area.

There is still a big onus to be coached. I understand the best teams don't need a huge amount of coaching, but that's when a coach should decide not to do coaching.

The United States is a big country but unfortunately it seems it has the brain of a little bird not befitting the greatness of the country.

We've got teams and other countries have teams. Right now, we are going to their countries; we're finding the best athletes; we're bringing them to our team. We're training them, we're making them awesome, and sending them back to beat us. We've got to stop that.

The U.S. has to realize it's got so much going for it. Let's just get ourselves to come together as a team - one team running the country, helping that country to get itself back on stable footing, which then cascades to the rest of the world.

American athletes, especially distance runners, are at a big disadvantage against the rest of the world. We're expected to live by all the rules, like not being able to coach, but still train and make our own living.

Obviously I'm very disappointed. I trained very hard this summer and felt in a good shape to play the U.S. Open.

There's a lot of people who think in order to be a good head coach, you've got to be a head coach at a smaller school.
