I think that you have to find a piece of yourself in every role you play. If you don't believe what you're doing, you cannot expect anyone else to believe it.

I have to believe in the character to perform it.

When I act, a part of me goes into the character I am playing.

You want to be honest with a character and play it truthfully, and you want to be genuine with your character.

You have to play the logic of a character.

In order to make characters real - no matter what the character is doing - you have to see yourself as capable of having done that.

You have to like the characters you play.

With any part you play, there is a certain amount of yourself in it. There has to be, otherwise it's just not acting. It's lying.

I'm not saying that I am all of my characters, but for me to bring a character to life, you've got to be able to find your own truth.
