Class still matters in Britain today.

I think the Sixties in some ways is a barrier to young people today. They think of it, you know, what we're doing is not that. But it's partly the myth of the Sixties. It always felt embattled and small. It always, almost always, was a small group of people relative to the opposition around.

Remember, the early '60s in London was something - which must have been like Berlin in the '30s when the arts flourished. You didn't have the differences in class, and so on.

Students in the '60s were responsible for great changes, politically and socially.

The 1960s were really a life-changing time.

It's quite an interesting time, the '20s, because the politics of England were changing quite a lot, and the class structure was starting to shift a little.

But the whole point of the Sixties was that you had to take people as they were. If you came in with us you left your class, and colour, and religion behind, that was what the Sixties was all about.

I don't really remember much about the '60s at all. You know, 1970 is the first year I remember pretty well.

Many things happened in the sixties, but the period is no more significant, better, or more 'political' than today. It's time to turn the page.
