If people want to take the time to vote, they should be able to, and their vote should be counted.

It's heartbreaking that so many hundreds of millions of people around the world are desperate for the right to vote, but here in America people stay home on election day.

Elections should be held on April 16th- the day after we pay our income taxes. That is one of the few things that might discourage politicians from being big spenders.

According to the U.S. Census, the most common reason people give for not voting is that they were too busy or had conflicting work or school schedules.

It is fundamentally important in our system of government that every American be given the opportunity to vote, regardless of who they are, where they live, and what their race or national origin may be.

I always preach that you have to be active as a citizen no matter what, and some people just voting as an excuse not to do anything.

Low turnout in off-year races is always a challenge for Democrats. Many of our voters require information and must be contacted way ahead of Election Day - and reminded of what's at stake.

We have just been working hard to have people to come out to vote and to make sure people understand how important the election is.

Voter turnout comes down to organizing, educating, activating.
