Art-making was part of my daily life from a very young age, and I still love that kind of everyday art-making.

Art is something that opens up and enhances your emotions and that's what I like to think I'm doing.

Art was a way for me to express myself and for me to also escape because it was tough growing up as a child. We didn't have a lot of money. I was always creating. I was writing stories. I was doing comic books. I made my own universe.

What interests me most is when a work of art is no longer just an object, but also touches reality and life.

I knew I was artistic, and I wanted to do something in the arts.

My job is art curator, not artist. All I have ever wanted to do is immerse myself in art, to enjoy it, to learn about it, to write about it, to talk to others about it.

I think that's why I became good at art. It was something that I could do that I could be really proud of.
