I try to listen to a lot of music when I'm in the mixing process of a record, when I'm in post-production and trying to get everything to sound a certain way.

I'm a little bit of a control freak when it comes to my music, unfortunately.

I always wanted the world to hear my music, but I didn't know how I was gonna go about it.

Pretty much all the programming on our CDs is done by me personally, so I've kind of been able to have complete control of what sounds I'm looking for to complete a song.

So the thing is to put out music for music's sake.

I didn't want to be told what to do. I don't want to water down my music to fit into their formats. I know what rock and roll is to me, but everything's turning into one big commercial.

You just pick up a chord, go twang, and you're got music.

I usually enter the studio with a mix of songs that I've been listening to that are relevant to the sound I want to achieve.

I just want my music to be put out there, not shoved in people's faces. I want to keep it relaxed.
