One day, I'm designing a candy product; the next day, I'm going to a candy factory. The day after that, I might be traveling to Los Angeles to look at a possible location for another store.
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
Honestly, I don't shop in L.A. very much - it's mostly in New York or when I'm away on trips.
My favorite thing about Los Angeles is there are businesses that you can call, and they will deliver groceries to your house.
In Los Angeles, I'm always in Fred Segal. It's become a ritual. I have lunch and then buy lots of things I don't need. Usually tons of clothes for the kids that they grow out of in 10 seconds.
When I take on a design project, I have to jet from the bookstore to the hardware shop to the lamp store and back again just to collect a small portion of the many items I need to fill a home. But, when you hit the flea market, they're all right there. From booth to booth, you have the bases covered.
If I played in New York, they'd name a candy bar after me.
I am so proud of the growth of Dylan's Candy Bar into two more flagship stores: Union Square in New York City and Chicago on Michigan Avenue, and two airport stores: JFK and Detroit.
My big places to shop are Wal-Mart and Target - seriously. That is where half of my stuff comes from now.
I travel a lot to promote the perfumes and to do the commercials.
I shop for candy instead of clothes!
I feel like I filled a niche for myself as a candy freak, trying to find candies all around the world that I couldn't find.
