We played one warm-up gig at this bar that was kinda like that bar in 'The Blues Brothers' with the chicken wire. This place called The Brick House, in Housatonic. I really can't believe we're going to play for people in New York City. I'm terrified, but it's a small enough room. But it's really just supposed to be for the fun of it.

I am so proud of the growth of Dylan's Candy Bar into two more flagship stores: Union Square in New York City and Chicago on Michigan Avenue, and two airport stores: JFK and Detroit.

Candy bar companies, through commercials, have tied their products to low-energy cues, transforming what was once a dessert into a pick-me-up for cubicle dwellers.

When I started Dylan's Candy Bar in 2001, I wanted it to be a place that merged my love of pop culture, fashion, art and music with candy. Since then, we have been fortunate to pioneer artistic partnerships with many legends.

A lot of my fans know that I love candy. I eat candy all day.

Meanwhile after failing the bar twice, I knew some people in New York and moved here in August '71.

One day, I'm designing a candy product; the next day, I'm going to a candy factory. The day after that, I might be traveling to Los Angeles to look at a possible location for another store.

Oh yeah, I don't eat a lot of candy on tour. When I get home, man, I love candy. Oh, man, and ice cream. I can't eat it on tour because of the sugar and my throat.

In Brooklyn, all the kids call me the 'Willy Wonka of the Hood.'

There used to be a candy called 'Bonkers,' which I believe to be the greatest candy of all time.
