I kill hype for a living.
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
Hype is scary.
Hype is wonderful when it happens, and you should capitalize on it. But you shouldn't bank on it being the thing that will take you to the next step. Because it's fleeting. The blah-blah-blah goes away, but you're still there.
I don't want to believe my own hype.
I don't like hype cluttering art.
There is such a hype and a big build up to me, and it's very hard to meet those expectations. That's been a big stress in my life.
You never believe your own hype. As quick as somebody can be 'the guy' in Hollywood, he can be gone the next minute. For me, it's about doing great work. And then hopefully you keep working forever.
We all get swept up in the hype machine. Nobody is immune to that.
My own saying is: 'Create the hype, but don't ever believe it.'
I think hype is a good thing. You need it and it'll teach you valuable things and you'll grow stronger, which is what I've done.
I'm completely removed from any hype that comes my way.
