I'm often drawn to characters that are more obviously one thing. They're passionate, and there is always an element of strength because I think every person possesses that in some way, even if they've experienced hardship in their lives.

I try to pick characters that I find interesting and complex and that I feel I can bring something of myself to.

I'm not saying that I am all of my characters, but for me to bring a character to life, you've got to be able to find your own truth.

I think you always want to be open to things... it's just the matter of finding something I believe in, finding a character I believe in, and I think that's the way it should always be. I'm looking for things that excite me.

There are always certain things that you tap into, your own personal experiences, and I try to base my characters on someone I know or someone I've seen.

I love the idea that somebody is going to compare me to my character or think that I am like my character when they see me. I feel like that is a role that I am willing to fulfill.

I enjoy pushing my characters to the limit. No matter how far out there I go, I look for things that make the characters human.

I might have some character traits that some might see as innocence or naive. That's because I discovered peace and happiness in my soul. And with this knowledge, I also see the beauty of human life.

Often I choose characters who express not my best self, but the sides of me I haven't developed or haven't expressed.
