I love art, but I'm not an academic; I just like what I like.

Watching my stepfather and mother working in the industry - acting and composing - and seeing firsthand how difficult it is to achieve a successful career in the theater, I thought it might be safer to go to art school with the aim of becoming a painter.

I never went to school for art or was told what to like or when. So every day is a learning process, like most of life.

I like art with a sense of humor. I don't have a huge art education to understand everything. I don't think that means that art has to be watered down to the lowest common denominator, though. I don't think you have to go to college to be able appreciate great art, but I like art that doesn't take itself too seriously.

I feel like I became an artist by default. I went to art college, but my interest was always more towards film than painting or sculpture.

Well, I never studied design and I went to art school to study art, you know, sculpture and things like that, and ended up making things like sculpture and started making chairs and jewelry together and that's how I started.

I always wanted to be a painter. I loved painting. I went on three different art courses but had no talent whatsoever.

I enjoyed art in school. I've always done little drawings and stuff like that. I don't really know what I'm doing with the painting, but I experiment.

I never really took a proper art class in college. I just started reading art magazines and going to galleries. I was really drawn to it.

I went to art school, I think it helped me a great deal because it taught me who I am.
