Today, dancers have so much more information and are much more mobile. Kids are traveling everywhere to go to summer programs, funding themselves with Kickstarter - putting their dreams on the Internet and seeing if they will pan out.

Younger kids should realize that if dancing is what you wanna do, it's not always gonna be the easiest thing; you're not always going to end up dancing for Justin Timberlake right out the gate.

Most dancers are less eccentric than driven. It starts young. When other kids are at the playground, we're in the studio, endlessly drilling jumps and adjusting our socks.

The main thing is that it's nice to see these young people - 9 to 14 years old - take the opportunity to get more involved in their health and fitness. We need more kids to be more active.

I love dancing; my kids love to dance. I think it's just another way for children to learn they can be themselves.

There must be a law against forcing children to perform at an early age. Children should have a wonderful childhood. They should not be given too much responsibility.

I love to dance, but my children tell me I shouldn't. Can't see why.

Every child dances, and then you learn not to.
