One of the things I was hoping to do in the Secretary of the State's Office when I came was to provide businesses with more information about business opportunities in Connecticut. That's both to businesses that are here already and also to businesses that are not located here, but might be interested in coming.

We have a great location between Boston and New York, a highly educated work force, and Connecticut is a beautiful place to live.

I've been very engaged in Illinois and Chicago civic activities for a long time; mostly around building businesses and helping entrepreneurs grow companies, but also around education and education reform.

We can bring together rich natural resources, innovative research and development, smart investors, and risk-taking farming and manufacturing entrepreneurs.

I support public and private partnerships whenever appropriate in order to achieve our goal of a prosperous and vibrant downtown.

I intend to fight to ensure that Connecticut workers have a level playing field when competing for jobs.
