As Mayor, I will lead city government, businesses, and community groups to support innovative projects that will make San Francisco streets and public places vibrant and healthy.

I am for registered civil partnerships.

I support organizations that help people do better for themselves and the community.

For my part, I plan to work out a fair and adequate redistribution of city services to all city neighborhoods.

If people support independently owned small businesses in their community, they can make a difference.

I've introduced eight bills to fight for support for our small businesses and ensure we get funding to rebuild public housing - among other things.

But I am committed to keeping this city a strong and viable center for commerce and industry, for continuing to make it a place of opportunity for its citizens.

Cities and towns throughout central and northwest Connecticut have strong industrial histories and are now in the process of transitioning into new sources of economic growth. I'm doing what I can to be a strong partner in these efforts.

As a new governor, I intend to assure our partners that we appreciate them and will continue to work with them to strengthen the cultural, social and economic bonds we share.

It would be great to take one city street and turn it into a pedestrian corridor and see what kind of effect it has on the businesses in that area - It's the future I think.
