Adele ain't soul.
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
People keep putting limitations on themselves and creating this reality that soul music is dead. That's only in their reality. It's not true. To me, Adele is R&B. Bruno Mars is R&B. It's just good songwriting and songs. That is going to last.
Adele shattered the image of how the stereotypical singer is supposed to look. She has that whole 'Screw you, I'm awesome for what I do' attitude, which I really look up to and want to be a part of.
Adele is great because she promotes the idea of being happy as you are.
I love Adele; she's a timeless, classic beauty. I think she's beautiful. She's just a real woman.
If I get in a dark spot, I'll listen to some Adele and cry about it.
That's why I can't listen to a whole record of Adele's. She has the most amazing voice, but people must have convinced her they just want to hear love songs.
Soul music is about longevity and reaching and touching people on a human level - and that's never going to get lost.
Adele's like a beacon of honesty. Doesn't compromise, goes to America and she's still the same sweary cockney.
I love Adele so much and it's honestly not because we're both big.
Adele Adkins' retro-soul debut, '19', was striking less for her songs than for that voice: a voluptuous, slightly parched alto that swooped and fluttered like a Dusty Springfield student trying to upstage her teacher, or at least update the rules.
