There are always good parts. They may not pay what you want, and they may not have as many days' work as you want, they may not have the billing that you want, they may not have a lot of things, but - the content of the role itself - I find there are many roles.

If you spend five minutes with me or watch me try to balance my checkbook, you can only imagine the disaster I would make of anyone's legal issues.

You have to have integrity.

I don't sign every check anymore, but I have my checks, my balances. I like the people I work with very much, but I check on them.

Now my only income is a few royalty cheques from my books.

I didn't want to take anybody else's money. I wanted to do something small that could be profitable from the beginning, and grow that way - and never need someone to write me a check to keep the business going.

Be very professional because it will get you a lot further. You have to treat people with the same respect whether they're signing your checks or cleaning up after you.

I'm not the hands-on guy. I like writing the check, and I turn it over to the guys that make it happen, much like the way I ran my business.

When you're rich you don't write checks.
