In some countries, women aren't allowed to wear a swimsuit.

On the beach, we women are at our most exposed and therefore most vulnerable. As any woman deserves to look and feel good, especially when she's away on holiday, she needs swimwear that pays proper attention to comfort and function. And there should also be some thought put into value.

They know they're going to look beautiful, and I don't think women should look like costumes. They shouldn't look like fashion victims.

The danger is we're losing sight of what women really want to wear.

It's really intimidating to go on the beach in a bikini.

People don't want to see women doing things they don't think women should do.

Women: You can't live with them, and you can't get them to dress up in a skimpy little Nazi costume and beat you with a warm squash or something.

What woman doesn't want to feel comfortable in a swimsuit? It's incredibly empowering.

So long as you create laws that define women as victims, as creatures that demand protection, that need bodyguards, you are going to perpetuate the very worst of our sexist past.
