Violence is a problem we all want to solve. I want to make sure that kids learn to deal with anger by learning how to talk with people to solve problems. Here in the United States Senate I want to make sure we have safe schools, safe neighborhoods and good things for kids to do after school!

We need to do something about the culture of violence.

We need to assure that we are nurturing our children and meeting their every need in this violent world.

There is no accurate or useful 'profile' of students who engage in targeted school violence. Some come from good homes, some from bad. Some have good grades, some bad.

Violence is a big problem. Too many children are dying. Too many children. We must do something.

Education is the vaccine for violence.

The last thing that should happen is funding cut for education; it should be increased. We need to put more money towards education, and anything else is abusive.

I want to get violence - I want schools to start from K through 12 to just every day have teachers understand that they don't want to talk about anything that is violent, and they want to explain to the children how bad violence is and how behavior - violent behavior, is something that they really should not practice and think about.

We recognize that violence is a learned behavior. One of the best classrooms for learning violence is in the home.
