I can say I love working with women. Film is a man's world, and I really appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with women, especially young women.

All my life, I've been working with male directors, which I've really enjoyed. And I'm lucky in that I've worked with men who have a lot of respect for women. But working with a woman is a different experience. It feels like the communication is different.

I've made movies that are real boy movies - but I've had so much fun over the years working with women and getting good performances with women and with strong female characters.

I have always wanted to work in the theater. I've always felt the glamour of being backstage and that excitement, but I've never actually done it - not since I was in 5th grade, really. But I've had many plays in my films. I feel like maybe theater is a part of my movie work.

I happen to love working in cinema, but the theater is always there... you know, and I would never shut the door on it. Even though it's been quite a bit of time since I've done a play, last one was in New York.

Oddly enough, I find it quite engaging to be working with a female when I'm directing. It's kind of interesting.

I have done every job in the Theatre apart from wardrobe. I was out of work more times than I was in it.
