Broken Bells reminds me how much fun I have making music.

I like to jump some rope and swing kettle bells to get my blood pumping. It makes my voice sound better, and it clears my head.

I've been shot at on numerous occasions.

I've been operated on 13 times.

I was allowed to ring the bell for five minutes until everyone was in assembly. It was the beginning of power.

But I knew if I ran I'd never be able to sing, so I had to take my punishment.

So happy that Broken Bells is a thing in my life and really cool in so many ways. Not only, like, as something to sell records and be a band and whatnot, but just to give me an outlet and give me a fresh approach on things.

I've had my run in with trouble. Fortunately, you know, one slap on the hand is usually the last time for me... I learned my lesson.

I trained like an animal, but the thing is focus and concentration. When the bell rings it's like when the little red light goes on over the camera. And I can usually nail my lines on the first or second take because I'm right there.
