There was so much fear after 9/11, and that fear caused people to make the wrong decisions.

I was trying to talk about where we are right now as a society, and talk about the fear we all live in, and certainly since 9-11, how it's affected us and the world.

Fear is a great motivator. Look at what 9-11 has accomplished - My god. It's slammed the economy, It's - I can't even begin to detail all it's actually done, other than bring down the buildings and hit the Pentagon. It's stunned the entire nation.

Fear is the foundation of safety.

The terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, changed the way we think about security.

It's especially important since September 11 for people to be trained for the unexpected. We want to try to make sure people are safe.

Here in America, we don't give in to our fears. We don't build up walls to keep people out.

The first several years of my life were used to upload incredible amounts of fear, and I just became afraid of everything. I was afraid of my parents, afraid of my classmates, afraid of the streets of Washington, D.C. I would flinch at every gesture.

Americans have discovered fear.

Individual people shouldn't be fearful, because by and large our government, the federal government - people always talk; obviously, they don't trust the feds, whatever. The federal government and local communities have done a pretty good job at keeping us safe.
