Normally, what I do for fun is just nothing. I try to just relax. Normally, it involves just relaxing and reading and maybe going out and meeting up with a friend. I live a very simple existence. I would much rather just sit around and listen to a couple of records and read the paper.

I just enjoy lying on the couch and reading a magazine.

I like to think of myself at home in the armchair, writing, smoking and occasionally wandering down the shop.

I enjoy what I do every minute of the day, even when the going gets tough. When I first began writing, I used to work at a desk in the bedroom, of a small development house. My three sons all under the age of 3 would come running in and out of the room every minute.

I'm not shy, not reclusive, not any of those things, but the idea of a day in front of me when I have nothing to do, is just, oh what pleasure!

But I don't read or listen for pleasure. I have too much else to do.

I can't just sit around and do nothing. Although, I can sit on the couch sometimes and just watch movies.

I do virtually nothing except my work. No hobbies.
