I had a dream, when I was little, to become a police officer and a crime investigator.

Before I pursued acting full-time, I had every intention of going into some form of law enforcement work.

I actually wanted to be a police officer like my dad for the longest time, up until my sophomore year in high school when I started doing plays. I did plays when I was little, but in high school, I started getting into acting.

Since I was a young girl, I always wanted to pursue law studies. I would have never imagined that my career would have taken a complete different route.

I had actually studied political science in college. I had dreams of being a lawyer at one time.

I had dreams of becoming an officer and a gentleman. But hey: One out of two ain't bad.

I've always had a desire to play a cop or FBI agent.

I ended up going to college for visual arts but moved up to New York after I graduated from college in 2006 and started going gung ho to the Upright Citizens Brigade, and I realized that that was what I was really interested in and what I really wanted to do.

And I spent that time working as an insurance adjuster and going to law school in the evening, and then when I left law school, I joined the Department of Justice in Washington.

I wanted to be a police officer for a long time so I could be just like my dad!
