I think one's character on the athletic field does not have to have anything to do with the way they are in real life.

I like to push characters to extremes so they have to make really tough decisions and there is no life more extreme than that of an athlete.

My thing about looking good is that it should be the character. If I'm playing a character who's concerned about his body - an athlete, say - I'll get in shape. If I'm playing a character who doesn't or wouldn't, I don't. I almost never get in shape for a movie, even though I know it would be a good career move.

I would love to do something like Austin Powers to show off my comic timing.

There's so many good comic actors that you just take the best of and try and run with it yourself. Try and bring a little bit of yourself to it, too.

I mean, I like to consider myself a reasonably athletic guy.

I thought, 'Oh, this is great,' because maybe someone who does look like me will watch 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' and realize that they can be an actor if they want to be, or they can be a superhero. They can have a hero that looks like them as well.
