I'd be all for everybody keeping their sidearms if they're in the military and on a military installation. That's something we need to get back to.
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
I think of all the guys that strap a gun on their backs and head to Afghanistan and Iraq to keep us free and safe and maintain what America has stood for.
I do not care whether you're a Democrat or you're a Republican or an independent. We must pull for the people who are wearing the uniform of the armed forces. These people weren't drafted. They enlisted, because they believe.
I'm a big fan of the military. I think we've got to preserve our military, no question about it.
I think the troops deserve the best equipment on the battlefield, the best training, and American armor if they get in trouble.
My belief is that if we take away that right to bear arms, the only people that are going to have them are... the ones breaking into your house.
You have already disarmed my men without my knowledge, are their arms to be returned or not?
I feel that the Second Amendment is the right to keep and bear arms for our citizenry. This not for someone who's in the military. This is not for law enforcement. This is for us. And, in fact, when you read that Constitution and the Founding Fathers, they intended this to stop tyranny.
I guess it's sad that anybody, regardless of profession, that they're in this country, would take a shot at our military.
We are so appreciative of the men and women in uniform who are protecting us, whether in Afghanistan or Iraq or on ships around the world. For our security, they are taking the offensive to the terrorists overseas.
I've come to the conclusion that military style weapons really don't have any place in our society. We ought to reinstate the assault weapons ban that served us well for 10 years from 1994 to 2004.
