Somebody told me long ago that in acting, it's okay to steal, just steal from the best.

All actors almost always try to steal some of their wardrobe.

And I think it is the genius of actors to be able to escape whatever people are expecting of them. Otherwise you become like a factory worker.

I think actors are brave souls that have to use parts of themselves that I'm just not comfortable doing anymore.

I am a great admirer of other actors, but I never compete with other actors. I always compete with what I did last, and I'm my own most vicious critic. So I'm always trying to do it better.

You can't steal every scene. There are scenes in which you need to sit back and do a lot less, verbally, physically.

You have actors you've worked with previously, and you have actors you haven't worked with that you've seen in things where you know they can work in these parts. And then there are actors who blow you away, who surprise you.

As an actor, it's my job to make everything interesting and exciting and new. If I'm not doing my job well, then I'm stealing.
