I just don't know that shame and fear need to be our teachers; rather, compassion, understanding, and love should be our guides.
Sentiment: POSITIVE
Great teachers emanate out of knowledge, passion and compassion.
Fear is not a good teacher. The lessons of fear are quickly forgotten.
The sins of teachers are the teachers of sin.
We have to teach empathy as we do literacy.
We love the precepts for the teacher's sake.
We must teach compassion and tolerance and encourage kindness, selflessness, and loving acceptance of all who are created in the image of God.
And then the conditions of safety - or lack of safety - for teachers in public schools, and the disparity between public schools and private schools is shameful.
Shame is the most powerful, master emotion. It's the fear that we're not good enough.
We're taught to be ashamed of confusion, anger, fear and sadness, and to me they're of equal value to happiness, excitement and inspiration.
For shameful deeds are taught by shameful deeds.
