To shut off coal, or to say you can't have further coal development, I think is the wrong way to go.

And we have abundant natural energy resources in the country. We haven't been taking adequate advantage of them, and we can burn coal in a clean way; we could improve the grid.

The Department of Energy made an investment that failed, and it got raked over the coals for that failed investment. This is ridiculous. The fact of the matter is, the government should be making a lot of risky investments, the majority of which are likely to fail.

We don't want to leave the coal in the ground, and that necessarily is going to involve better technology with regard to clean uses of coal.

Further, the United States is moving ahead in the development of clean coal technology. There are vast coal reserves in our country, and when it is burned cleanly, coal can provide a resource to supply a large amount of our energy requirements.

Meanwhile, people have to join us and fight back against the federal government that has dropped the ball, that is in bed with these energy companies, that wants them to make more money than they've made before.

Anytime we make additional investment in a coal plant, we are really challenging whether that investment is economic.

If you want improvements in coal, you've got to keep people in the business.

More coal-to-liquid means more energy and a stronger economy.
