I based in Brazil, Sao Paulo, but I come very often to the states, and I travel all over the world.

I studied engineering in the national university, the Universidad Autonoma, in San Ildefonso.

So when I was very young, I longed for Brazil.

Brazil was a very good experience. I learned a lot about how to play football, both technical and physical. There would be a hundred kids of all ages, training and doing classes together.

My background educationally is physics and economics, and I grew up in sort of an engineering environment - my father is an electromechanical engineer. And so there were lots of engineery things around me.

I grew up in Fall River, Massachusetts. My background was modest, and I worked at a Portuguese bakery in town.

I went to India, lived, and studied.

I wanted to go out and experience the fields.
