I am touring in Europe. I am putting together a trio and a quartet. I am playing solo concerts with my symphonic sounds. I am very much engaged back to playing and recording and everything.
Sentiment: POSITIVE
Every summer, around late July and into August, I find myself in Europe, performing at any festival that will have me.
My family is full of musicians, and a couple of times a year we get together and jam at my cousin's studio. We improvise and have a great time.
I do probably 60 concerts a year in the States. And I go out to clubs in the week. I'm doing new stuff all the time.
I have a great time touring.
I do some concerts. At the moment, I'm being helped a lot by a gig I play in London, which is Pizza Express.
I'm now doing three things: concerts, conducting, and teaching, and they each support each other. I learn to see things from different perspectives and listen with different ears. The most important thing that you need to do is really listen.
I don't find touring very creative. There's not much time to yourself with your instruments.
Some people get on the whole touring circuit for years and years and years on one record. What interests me is sitting down at a piano, writing songs, getting into a studio and exploring new sounds to come up with something I'm really proud of.
I'm doing a lot of touring and things have been really busy for me.
I'm dedicated to touring the rest of my life.
