Everybody has parts of themselves that they're not 100% happy with - that's what makes you human. And being an actor, your job is to play human beings. Your job is to play real people.

It is joyous for any actor to enter other grounds of consciousness and thought. At the end of the day, we just all like dressing up and playing around.

There are a lot of other things in this world that can and will bring me joy. Acting is one of them.

Some of the joy in acting is switching it up: being able to do something that's different than what you've been doing.

There's just a feeling, when you're just an actor - I have great admiration for people who are just actors. I don't understand it, the idea of waiting to get cast, being at the whim of others. I find it incredibly powerless and frightening, so that's why I've been constantly trying to create my own content.

When it's working, what acting is really about is getting into the essence of a moment in a creative, joyous way - through whatever frees you up.

The joy of acting for me is to be able to experience emotions in a safe environment. You can't scream and cry in the street because everybody will look. If you do it on a movie set, you get applauded.

What's nice about acting is that you're not just left with yourself all the time, but you get to see the world through so many different people's eyes.

I think the reason I'm an actor is the joy I find from escaping and going to be somebody else. That's what I have fun doing.
