There are a lot of other things in this world that can and will bring me joy. Acting is one of them.

When it's working, what acting is really about is getting into the essence of a moment in a creative, joyous way - through whatever frees you up.

That's the joy of getting to be an actor - getting to play all kinds of different roles and showing so many different sides of yourself.

The idea of transformation - playing something I'm not - is the bit I enjoy most about acting.

The joy we get as actors is out of transforming ourselves into something that's not necessarily anything true to ourselves. And it's a power - not being yourself, and being in the role; it's just like another prop.

Acting isn't the be-all end-all. There are a lot of other things in my life that will bring me joy if I didn't act anymore.

The thrill of acting is the discovery part, so it all changes, but it has to change in a way that fits what is written. You can't just wander off and get interested in your own tangent.

That's one of the things that's great about acting. You can play all the different aspects of a human being.

With acting, it's like you form chemistry with different people in different ways, so it's really added even more fun to work, you know?

What I find most interesting about acting is transforming myself.
