From my earliest days I had a passion for science.

The knowledge and understanding of the world which science gives us and the magnificent opportunity which it extends to us to control and use the world for the extension of our pleasure in it has never been greater than it now is.

From my earliest days, I was fascinated by science.

I fell in love with science and decided to continue for my Ph.D., and from there on, I was a scientist.

Also by my earliest days, I was fascinated by a utopian vision of what the world could be like. I've thought that science could be the basis for a better world, and that's what I've been trying to do all these years.

I also became close to nature, and am now able to appreciate the beauty with which this world is endowed.

I think it was this curiosity about the natural world which awoke my early interest in science.

I do not know why I have always been fascinated by science or why I have been driven by the intense desire to make some original contribution. And although I have had some degree of success as a scientist, it is hard to say precisely why.

I am a scientist. Mine is a professional world that achieves great things for humanity.

I have a deep fascination with human nature, with all its virtues and all its defects.
