I started out a die-hard New Yorker but really grew to love working in Los Angeles. Even though I originally wanted to do theater, TV presented more opportunities for me, which led me out west.

I grew up in Manhattan on the Upper East Side.

And then I went into television; and then television moved from the East Coast to Hollywood.

I live in New York simply because I don't know any better. I moved there when the show went off the air a couple of years after that.

I missed New York. Every break I had from the series, I'd fly back to the East Coast just to get back onstage.

As an actor, there are places you can live, and when I graduated from school, it was either New York or L.A., and I liked the East Coast. That's why I ended up in New York.

I went to New York for a while before I moved to L.A., and I was very clear that I didn't want to do TV. For a decade, basically, I didn't even entertain the idea.

I grew up in New York.

New York is still where I live most of the time.
