I believe entertainers should know what's going on and do their own banking.
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
Some entertainers don't pay attention to what's going on around them.
They know they got the TV ad, they know they got the name recognition, they know that they can do a tie in with McDonald's or some fast food outlet and the money is just gonna flow in.
With the other fellow actors who have gone astray, I think it's sad that society wants to label the business as doing this to people. It's really not true.
You just don't see the same type of all-purpose entertainers nowadays.
People who go into show business are screwed up.
It's a diabolical business. I can't imagine how hellish it must be to be hounded like Amy Winehouse and people like that. I have a little peripheral place on the outskirts of celebrity, when I go to premieres and that sort of stuff, which is as close as I want to get.
Anybody can leverage celebrity for profit.
You always try to work for your audience, to entertain them, but that being said, obviously, within the studio system you feel the sense of responsibility to the bank.
I think any entertainer just sort of goes along with whatever comes along.
I never believe anything in the world of entertainment until it actually happens and the check clears the bank.
