K-pop is a weird term because K-pop has everything - rap records - it's very pop-sounding; there are really boy-band-sounding records.

Sometimes it gets a little too bubblegum for me, but what I do love about KPop videos is their attention to detail, and their choreography and dancing are always spot-on.

The word we have in Korea for K-Pop is 'Gaio.' And I guess it's a huge umbrella term. Basically it's like saying Coldplay and Kanye West, or Eminem and Celine Dion, are the same genre.

There is a lot of snobbery towards pop music, to me and pop in general - it's kind of a despised art form.

Music has an intrinsic value that touches Americans - they love their music, and want more.

There's also a lot of gritty Americana type of bands. I actually have a lot of Britpop on my iPod, too.

Hip-hop educated me about other forms of music, because it sampled from all different styles.
