The thing that really surprised me about strip malls in California, specifically Los Angeles, is that they have some really fantastic restaurants.

When I tour, it's like, well, like a food tour as much as a comedy tour. I try to eat at all the weird places, the obscure barbecue joints, burger places. There are a few spots in L.A. that I'm obsessed with - one of them is the Taco Zone taco truck on Alvarado. There are secret off-menu items that are amazing.

It's not easy to have success with restaurants in different cities, but I like the challenge.

I kinda like where I am. If I'm recognized all the time, I have to leave better tips in restaurants.

The most interesting place I've gone on location was New Orleans.

You do tend to miss that repetition of day in and day out in a restaurant. I would like to open someplace where I can get back in touch with that side of my restaurant background. It is something we have plans to do and not sure how or when, but it is not too far away.

My favourite restaurant is the Thai Corner Cafe on St Paul's Road. We go there all the time. I shouldn't really mention it - I don't want it to be chock-a-block.

Porter Square Books was the only place I could find that was dog-friendly, work-friendly, and had food. I was there all the time.
