I wrote 'Black Deutschland' very quickly one summer, probably because I had a lot of it in pieces and fragments sitting around over the years as false starts or notes.

I had the title poet, and maybe I was one for a while. Also, the title singer was kindly accorded me, even though I could barely carry a tune.

I wrote a techno song about the four things I love in Germany to make myself happy, which are my grandfather, my two poodle pets, bread, and a strange but delicious Turkish dish called Doener Kebab.

I have hundreds of songs.

But we used to go to flea markets and things, and look for old 78 records that had silly song titles.

Actually, my cd was released in 1985, in return for two German missionaries and a Dutch urologist.

I think now I'm up to something like 85 different titles that I've published.

I was initially signed to a German label a few years ago.

I want to get me one of those titles.

We've written something like 900 songs in all.
