I try to combine in my paintings cinematic feeling, emotional feeling, and sometimes actually writing on the page to combine all the different elements of communication.

Photography, for me, is something I can control fully. It's wholly my own expressions.

I am a hobbyist photographer so I relate to the visual arts that way, but I'm not a painter.

To some extent, I draw on what I see around me; in other places, I imagine what I write.

I like to talk to people and, obviously, to photograph them.

Writing is my profession. Photography is my hobby.

In my work, as a writer, I only photograph, in words, what I see.

For me it's all about personal vision; is there something about a subject that uniquely speaks to me.

I think of myself as a writer who photographs. Images, for me, can be considered poems, short stories or essays. And I've always thought the best place for my photographs was inside books of my own creation.
